Top Camden / Brent Lib Dem Defects to Conservatives

Brent Post Offices Under Threat

Brent’s Post Offices are threatened with closure under plans outlined by Labour. Since Labour came to power, they have already closed one quarter of Brent’s Post Offices with 2,500 more closures across the UK to come.

Local campaigner Chris Philp said, “Post Offices are the heart of our local communities. Closing even more down will strike a blow to the heart of Brent’s vibrant life. Often, the most vulnerable in society – including the elderly – rely on these Post Offices. I will continue to campaign against these callous closures”.

Sarah Teather leaves Queens Park, Brondesbury and Kilburn

Sarah TeatherBrent East MP Sarah Teather has decided not to contest the new Hampstead & Kilburn seat (which includes Brondesbury, Queens Park and Kilburn) because she knows the Lib Dems can’t win here. She has instead decided to contest the new Brent Central seat, where she believes she will win. Sarah Teather’s decision makes one thing very clear – the new Hampstead & Kilburn seat – covering Queens Park, Brondesbury and Kilburn – is a straight Conservative / Labour fight. Chris Philp said, “If elected, I will continue Sarah Teather’s approach as a hard working local MP in Brondesbury, Queens Park and Kilburn.”

Brent London Assembly Seat

Next May, Brent will be voting for its London Assembly Member. Last time, the Assembly Candidate was successfully elected with a clear lead over the second-placed Labour candidate, with the Lib Dems trailing in a poor third – showing once again that only the Conservatives can beat Labour here in the new seat Hampstead and Kilburn.
